FBI and background checks mailed to agency

Decide Condo is too small for a growing family (and growing self-conscious about passing home study...dumb, we know!) Contact Wonderful Realtor
4/6/10-
Meet with Wonderful Realtor
4/9/10-
Condo officially on market (6 showings first weekend)
4/14/10-
2 Condo offers! Both fell through :(
4/16/10-
Middle School Fun Night- Tired Me

K leaves for India
4/23-25/10-
7 condo showings, just L and the pup at home...car breaks down, other car runs out of gas, monsoon rains create major window leak...me in tears

Sale Pending! HE provides for us in our tight timeline to avoid home study delays due to moving..
Find out we will be an Aunt and Uncle again...TWINS!

Mail in rest of homestudy forms

Find out need to do NoDak/MN child abuse checks...possible 6 week home study delay
5/15/10-
In NoDak for AMO baby shower...tell girlfriends about adoption process. Yay!
5/17/10-
Receive paperwork for additional child abuse checks
5/18/10-
Mail in NoDak/MN forms...pray for speed (and our patience)
5/21/10-
Receive home study invoice--Kevin exclaims, "Yay, a bill!" In all sincerity, it was the first bill he was ever excited to receive...
5/22/10-
We mailed off the home study payment and invoice...we always kiss the envelope before sending them off in the mail.
6/2/2010-
Home Study scheduled for 6/10 and 6/16--we move 6/15
6/9/2010-
Part 1 of Home Study is rescheduled (Social Worker has bronchitis)
6/15/2010-

6/16/2010-
Home Study Part 1 complete- sweet social worker is still not feeling well, but she made the trip anyway! Poor thing!
6/17/2010-
Home Study Part 2 complete--We are APPROVED. She even called us the dream couple--I bet she says that to everyone she works with, but it made us feel pretty great. Could barely get through the door our heads were so big and hearts were so full.
7/3/2010-
Receive home study report to review and make revisions
7/6/2010-
Home Study revisions are complete and the report is sent by Social Worker off to the agency for notarization
7/28/2010-
Notarized home study report received (accidentally sent to the wrong address, had to pick it up from our old condo)
7/29/2010-
Sent fax out for State Certification of our home study and power of attorney
8/3/2010-
FedEx'd our USCIS (Immigration) paperwork and our Dossier paperwork (wait to hear if we are officially on wait list..technically will need immigration approval before the next steps will happen)
8/13/2010-
#38 on the referral wait list!
9/3/2010-
USCIS fingerprinting in DSM (Breley and Kailey V are born @ 24 weeks gestation)
9/4/2010-
Meet our new nieces for the first time!
9/5/2010-
Breley goes back to her LORD--love you sweet child!
9/11/2010-
Funeral for sweet baby Breley
9/13/2010-
Notice of Favorable determination from USCIS received!
10/1/2010-
ALL paperwork is in ET!
10/21/2010-
#21 on referral wait list!
1/20/2011-
#6 on referral wait list! (Estimated as our agency stopped giving out official numbers)
2/11/2011-
REFERRAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful, 4.5 month old, precious, little GIRL!!!!!
2/14/2011-
Sent in official referral acceptance paperwork
3/8/2011-
Case officially submitted to Federal First Instance Court of Ethiopia!
3/16/2011- Received court date! We meet our daughter 63 days from today!
5/17/2011-Meet Cupcake!!!!!
5/20/2011-Pass Court on the 1st try
6/21/2011-Submitted to US Embassy
6/28/2011-Cleared to travel to Ethiopia!
6/30/2011-It's official! We are leaving 7/14/2011 to pick up Cupcake, FOREVER!
7/9/2011- L diagnosed with Mono and Pneumonia. Strongly advised not to travel :(
7/10/2011- L sent to emergency room...definitely not traveling to Ethiopia :(
7/11/2011- L's big bro, T, agrees to go with K to pick up Cupcake
7/14/2011- K and T leave for Ethiopia
7/19/2011- K takes custody of Cupcake FOREVER!
7/21/2011- Embassy Interview Cleared!
7/23/2011- Cupcake becomes US Citizen in Chicago and is reunited with Momma! Family of 3...Together, Forever!!!!
