Divine Timing

Today, darling girl, you turned 6 months old! Yay for making it 1/2 a year sweet girl! We pray for your growth and development every single day, and according to the recent health update and now the pictures we received...prayers are being answered! You look fantastic, and oh so sweet. Your hair is AMAZING! We LOVE it, and one of us (me) has anxiety about learning to properly care for it. So much life and love in your eyes. Oh, and how can I forget those feet!? We didn't get to see your little tootsies in the first pictures we received of you. We get to see them now! They are soooo big for your little body! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

Well, the new pictures were great (divine) timing. We had one of your new pictures with a cupcake to sing to you. What a great day to get new pictures of you!

We're coming sweet girl...57 days (almost 56!)!!!!!!!!!

63 Days!!!!!

We found out today that we have been scheduled for a court date, May 20th! This means we will meet our daughter on the 18th. 63 days!!!!! (62 after today!). There is still a lot of unknowns in the process, and they are worrisome, but it provided a much needed affirmation to get a court date! God is good!

I made a paper chain so I can "see" the count down. I used the colors of the stripes in the Ethiopian flag. Didn't have a good place to hang it, so I draped it on this in the living room :)

Health Update :)

We got an updated health report on our darling daughter. The only downside was that it wasn't accompanied with new pictures, but everything else sounds like it is on the up and up. Our little tiger needed to gain some weight, and she accomplished that! She gained 3 pounds and grew 3 inches! Oh, how I wish we could see if she has more than one tiny little chub roll on her legs! The other highlight, "smiles spontaneously." She is going to need those smile muscles in good working order for growing up with the silly goofs that make up our friends and family.

No updates on how we can expect the process to change our timeline for bringing her here. Keep praying! xoxo

An Awesome Project

I'm just loving reading about this project a fellow family in our state is involved in. So cool! Click HERE to read about it.They would be honored with your prayers and donations, too!

Doing some praying of our own that this week brings some positive news for our adoption process out of Ethiopia. Have a great week! xoxo

Imagine Me Singing...

This will only work if you know the song, "Rise and shine" (basically because I have it stuck in my head for some odd reason, I wonder if K would prefer this over the 3 days I was singing and humming the Golden Girls theme???) I should also mention, this will only be funny if you have EVER actually heard me sing...it is U.G.L.Y folks... guess that happens when you are hearing impaired. Hearing impaired = tone deaf...at least that is the excuse I am going with :)

So, instead of "Rise and Shine" I'm singing "Wait and Pray" oh, and give God the glory, glory. Seriously, why did this song pop into my head? I haven't actually heard it since Sunday School when I was probably 9???? Hang on, is there another verse to this song and I just claimed that I made it up??? If so, my apologies...can you tell I'm coming down with something? This is even more ranty and rambley than normal. :(
Okay, okay, I'm getting to the point. We heard today that our case was officially submitted to the Federal First Instance Court of Ethiopia. Hooray! So, prayers are being answered that we reached the next 'milestone' in this process. Our agency has asked (more than once, because apparently they know that I am both hearing impaired and need lots of reminders) to not be 'apprehensive' about all of the news/rumors coming out of Ethiopia in regards to adoptions. Still, I'm not finding that little task 'easy,' but whatever...

Can I direct you to another post of another woman that can articulate these things sooooooo much better than I? Go here: http://paulandchrissy.blogspot.com/2011/03/rocks-and-rivers.html

Here We Go Again...

We are working on not getting too worked up over what is still believed to be speculation and rumors (oh, but it is so hard...)

The rumor mill started a few days before the following article came out, and the publication of the article has sent EVERYONE in the Ethiopian adoption world into a panic of sorts. Let me say, we are 1000% FOR ethical adoptions, and we want corruption rooted out of the process. HERE is the link to the article I referenced. Let me just say, from what I can tell...VOA is not necessarily the most reliable source for information, and our agency posted that *for now* everything published in it is speculation (I also take issue with a few things the author states as *fact* that are soooooooo not. i.e.-- we are not paying $20,000 to the ET government for our daughter...ugh).

I read a blog this morning by another family with another agency in process, and she puts all of this in the best perspective...Read that HERE

So, if you are the praying type (and even if you aren't), please cover the children in ET in prayer. We ask for their protection, and for those that truly need a home to get to that in the speediest possible manner. Thanks in advance.

I Love My Hair

I just came across this video again as I was researching ways to care for our lil darlins head o'hair. She has the cutest curls already. Gots to make sure I know how to care for 'em! Watching this video helped break some of the anxiety that was building while reading about all the Do's and Don't's and Products and how often to wash or not wash, hair line breakage, twists, plaits...blood pressure was rising again...okay...I'm better. Enjoy the video!!
